Checking in From Cloud Nine
First of all, thank you Grandpa and Grandma S and Aunt JR for helping with the children and the homefront while we were in the hospital! Also, thank you to Grandma C for helping us at home all week!
We are having such a great time with little Enoch. He is such a contented baby and the easiest one we’ve had since David. I can’t get enough of holding him and cuddling with him. Our other children too are madly in love with him. And for the first time(I think) there seem to be no insecurities or clinginess with them. In the past there was always a bit of an adjustment period for the older kids, but Enoch seems to blend in very seamlessly.Â
We’re just so thankful. The Lord has done far more than we could ask or think both in the delivery and in this postpartum time! What a mercy!
I’m kinda’ odd in that I don’t have postpartum depression. I always get “pregnancy depression” and that goes away almost immediately after the baby is born. I wish these first days could just be frozen and kept for a bit longer. It is such a fun time!
Esther is a great helper and big sister. She holds Enoch for long stretches of time until he starts acting hungry and rooting around — then she looks kinda’ worried for her own safety and gives him back to me.
Luke was holding him once and that happened. He said “Eat me!” and passed him off really quickly. LOL He’s definitely one hungry baby and is growing fast. We weighed him at Peter’s clinic on Tuesday and he had already passed up his birth weight and was 8lbs.
David prays for him every night that there wouldn’t be anything wrong with him that the doctors didn’t find. He’s very tender and gentle with him, and I think is a bit overawed by his fragility.
Thanks again for everyone’s help. I know we wouldn’t be enjoying this time nearly so much without it!

Enjoying this special time right along with you guys… love you all
Thanks for the update, I’m glad it’s all going so well!
Oh goodness, just look at that third picture. He’s grown already, and his coloring is beautiful! He already looks so much different from the day you brough him home. I’m looking so forard to seeing him, and you guys of course, this week. I’m glad you feel much better emotionally! Makes life much easier!
Oh man, you make me feel like maybe I could do it one more time! If only I didn’t have such a hard time with the sleep deprivation. We’re still not anywhere near sleeping through the night here and Baby B is almost seven months old! So glad it is going so well for you.
So glad to hear all of this!
What a sweet posting. This truly is cloud 9. I know what you mean about the postpartum time–as soon as the baby is out I enjoy the next few days more than any time in my life. Your post is helping me to remember those gift-days : ) Keep enjoying those beautiful children!
Aww! What a beautiful family! I’m so happy for you and glad to hear everything is going well
.
So glad to here things are going so well, and that he’s a good baby. They’re such fun those first days when they sleep so much and are so fun to cuddle. Glad the kids are enjoying helping with him too.
