Valentine”s Day

We’ve never really celebrated Valentine’s Day as a couple or a family, but the kids are getting older and suddenly it seems like a good opportunity to teach them about practical Christian love and kindness. Tonight I created these jars so that over the next few days we can write down little things we love [...]

Stalled

Okay, well this blog has really died. First, the security changes, and now – just no posting for 3+ months! I’m not even really sure why I stopped posting. Life has been busy, but it’s always been busy. I think sometimes when there’s other stuff going on that I don’t consider appropriate for the blog, [...]

Swimming

What indoor recreation can you do with a family of 6 that only costs $6? Swimming! We discovered a Bellingham pool with waterslide, diving board and kiddie-sloped swimming area that has half-price evenings! The kids had SO much fun….I have a feeling it will become a regular thing this winter.
“Mommy, I can jump in!”

Waiting for the bus. She chose her outfit. Hopefully she’ll always dress like this.

Birch Bay Camping

Last week we squeezed in a last-minute camping trip in Birch Bay. I had told the kids at the beginning of summer that we’d try to do this, and suddenly I realized that school was starting next week(tomorrow!), so we went Sunday night and Monday night, and we were close enough to home that Daddy [...]

Thunderstorm Party and Catch-Up

What do you do with 3 nervous kids and a thunderstorm? Have a party of course! And chocolate!

I’ve always loved thunderstorms and I want our kids too as well. I think we’re on the right track.

I think Little D forgot all about the thunderstorm, though. He was too engrossed in his “thunder party”.
And here’s some [...]

My New Love

-laundry that smells like fresh air and sunshine
-no ironing
-doing an otherwise mundane chore, outside
-living room shaded from the afternoon sun
-did I mention no ironing?
-lowing our PSE bill(Sorry Dallas)
-pretending to be an old-fashioned country wife

And in case you are all bored to tears….. here’s some baby cuteness:

His pre-crawling contortions.

Toys for Sall

I’m torn between wanting to laugh and wanting to buy all his toys so he’d get some business!

And since you can’t read the price tags….that’s $5 for a pokemon card. Anyone? Anyone at all? I tried to tell him things were overpriced, but he just got exasperated with me.

The (Un)Water Park

Today we headed off to Fairhaven Park to take advantage of the beautiful weather and play in the water park there. Unfortunately, we found out once we arrived that it doesn’t open for another 5 days. Fortunately, there was a pretty great playground, or I would have had a bunch of grumpy kids on my [...]

This One’s For You, Daddy

Today we headed to the beach for a birthday celebration for David and cousin Kayleen. It was perfect weather, and it was really good to see everybody. Unfortunately Daddy had to be far away in Seattle – working hard to take care of us, so these pics are for him. We missed you, [...]
