Thunderstorm Party and Catch-Up

What do you do with 3 nervous kids and a thunderstorm? Have a party of course! And chocolate!

I’ve always loved thunderstorms and I want our kids too as well. I think we’re on the right track.

I think Little D forgot all about the thunderstorm, though. He was too engrossed in his “thunder party”.
And here’s some catch-up photos from the last few weeks:

The “tree maze” at Grandpa and Grandma S’s farm. (the favorite place to play)

At the farm again, Luke trying to keep up with the others and literally eating David’s dust.

Picking Mommy a strawberry.
Why do our children always want to eat whatever Daddy’s eating?

Enoch is making up for lost time. In the last 2 weeks, he’s begun crawling with increasing speed, and is pulling himself up on all the furniture. He’s also been having a lot more bonks lately….just this morning he pulled a kitchen stool over onto himself.

(I couldn’t figure out how to crop it and my techy-hubby isn’t here, so it’s kinda’ boring after the first minute)
So Much Excitement, So Much Bread!
I’ve been super excited lately about this:
A new Mom & Pop Thrift Store opened just down the street from us, and when I went there on Monday I found this breadmaker for $13, which the owner assured me worked fine. And indeed it does….so far I’ve made 3 loaves of bread! We’ve wanted one of these for years, but never invested the time and money in researching and buying one; and besides, I always figured I should learn how to make it the old fashioned way like my model-housekeeping little sister….but that just didn’t seem to be happening for me.
Anyways, we’re definitely a “bread family” and I’m pretty excited about having fresher, healthier, cheaper and tastier bread to serve on a regular basis! Now I am working on finding/creating the perfect recipe which consists of a minimum of ingredients, has a significant amount of whole grains in it, and one that the whole family loves. If anyone has a recipe they’d recommend, please e-mail it to me: Mommy@gmail.com, if you have time.
David and Esther: bread, butter and honey is not a balanced meal, no matter how much of it you eat!
A Jaunt To Leavenworth

Uncle Dallas and Aunt Leesee invited us to join them in Leavenworth Sunday evening and Monday for some fun in the snow. They rented a cabin that was not really a cabin. David’s last experience with cabins was at Lassen Pines where there were “ants on the potty”….that definitely wasn’t a problem here….it [...]
