Boating Fun

Last weekend we were able to go down to spend some time with Uncle D and Aunt L.  On Saturday we had a great time going out in their boat with them!  Thanks D and L!  I wish I had taken more pictures, but this is all I’ve got.

The neatest houseboat community we’ve ever seen, on Lake Union!

My cutie pie showing off his missing tooth.

Baby B was so cute all bundled up.  She seemed very comfortable and contented despite barely being able to move!

All the kids loved to sit up front with Uncle D.  Here is Darius fitting in a much needed nap.  Later, on the way back, they all took turns driving and scaring Mommy in the back seat.  Josiah made big “S” curves in the water, and Chloe turned us in a fast circle.  Uncle D had to slow us right down as we bounced over our own wake on that one!

Overall, it was such a great time!  A once in “longtime” thing for us.  Hmmmm…maybe we should get a boat…?  :)

“I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever”

In the hours before the wedding last Saturday, I was watching my daughter sleep in our hotel room and reflecting on the Lord’s mercies towards us in so many little and not-so-little ways.  Firstly, that he brought Kathy and John together…the love and joy shines so brightly between them!

Secondly, that our hotel room somehow turned out to be a room with 2 double beds instead of the 1 king bed that they originally told us was the only one left — 2 beds is MUCH better for a family of 5!

Thirdly, that the hotel let us check-in early, making it possible for Chloe and Darius to have naps before the wedding….small things, but they make such a difference sometimes!

And last, but not least:  that Peter is such a loving and fun Daddy!

Here’s some more pictures from our trip:

Stopping for dinner at a taco stand in Othello, Friday night.  MMmmmmm….surprisingly(to me!) the “lengua” ones were the best!  :)

Josiah enjoying a “reprieve” from his carseat…I put that in quotes because it was around 100 degrees!

So nice to come across fellow believers!  (this was on the window of the taco stand)

Cuteness condensed.

(we couldn’t get Josiah to put his hand down for any length of time…the sun was pretty bright)

“Can you make it a square?”  …that’s what Chloe says whenever she needs help aligning her blankie…Darius on the other hand couldn’t care less - as long as he has something soft to hold and his thumb, he’s happy!

Walla Walla Conference

We were excited to be able to go to Walla Walla conference this year for all 3 days!  The kids had a great time making new friends(with the exception of Darius who had a mysterious fever for the first day), and we enjoyed the meetings which were very profitable and encouraging in Ephesians 2.  I didn’t get very many pictures since I was kept busy with the kids most of the time, but here are a few.

Darius Swing Walla Walla

Midnight of Thursday night when we arrived at D&L’s house.  They have these swings installed between the dining room and living room.  Very cool!

Entertainment for little boys.  :)

Walla Walla Conference

Sorry for the blurriness!  D&L had 7 little kittens that Chloe spent every available minute mothering.

Darius catching up on sleep during one of the meetings.  Josiah took this picture.

Climbing on some large structure that was stored at the edge of the gym.

Sunday School

Here’s some clips from Friday night, when a bunch of families came back to the house in the evening for some visiting-time and lots of food:
