A Day in the Life

If you were to come to our house for a day,
These are the things that you’d see:
Chaos and noise from three little boys,
And one little lady-to-be.
8am: breakfast and Bible reading.
(that toast isn’t burnt – it’s cinnamon toast)
8:30am: heading to the bus stop at the end of our street.
9am: homeschool time with Esther.
…and Enoch.
Noon: watching a Science video while eating lunch.
(In case you were wondering why Luke is always missing pants….we are kinda’ potty training.
)
1:30pm: naptime
Yes, you too, Laila.
4pm: David home from school, doing his 20 minutes of reading…this time a library book from school called “Captain Underpants” (Ahem)
Esther helping take care of Enoch…she does this A LOT. What a sweetie!
Fooling around on the piano. (and having Wheat Thins for snack)
7pm: Family “Tea-meeting”, and fresh bread of course.
7:30pm: playing with Daddy’s stuff.
8pm: Goodnight Nuggets.
Bedtime Tea

I hesitate to title this “tea party” lest David be super embarrassed about it a few years from now. It’s simply “bedtime tea” and has become quite a tradition during the last few nights.
The kids choose a tea flavor to share and I make “Cinnamon Sugar Crispies” (otherwise known as cinnamon toast-cut into triangles…tonight I made it with pita bread, since I had some handy).

Today’s flavor was “Lemon Ginger” which they surprisingly liked…it tasted kinda’ like Chai tea once cream and sugar were added.

We pulled out one of Esther’s birthday presents this morning…a paint-your-own tea set. It is super cute and I had a little bit of a hard time letting them paint whatever they wanted on it. I’m glad I gave them free rein though – they were very pleased with the results…that’s all that matters, right? [...]
