The (Un)Water Park

Today we headed off to Fairhaven Park to take advantage of the beautiful weather and play in the water park there. Unfortunately, we found out once we arrived that it doesn’t open for another 5 days. Fortunately, there was a pretty great playground, or I would have had a bunch of grumpy kids on my hands!

Today(Thursday) I got inspired by a “Plum Dimple Coffee Cake” I saw a recipe for and I happened to have a whole bunch of plums from Costco, so we did some baking.
Here, David is tasting the flour, which Esther thought was hilarious and “gross”.
Working hard to mix…the recipe required about 10 minutes total of mixing time, and the end result was very unspectacular. I much prefer my sour cream coffee cake recipe given to me by Heather E years ago.
The finished product after we were finished with it for bedtime snack.
Uncle Andrew has been staying with us for most of the week. Here he is playing “And Is It So” (Eventide) for us on the piano. Not bad!
Evening Waterfight
The kids finished off the day today(07/15/08) on a good note, with a rousing waterfight. I found out that the teams were Uncle A. and Esther against Luke and David…..this didn’t seem too fair to me, but it worked out amazingly well.
